Abstract
Vitamin D and calcium are important for bone health and serve many other important functions in the body;however, some patients may be deficient in these nutrients or at risk of deficiency. This article reviews vitamin D and calcium recommendations and provides strategies healthcare practitioners can use to ensure their patients obtain optimal amounts and prevent both deficiencies and toxicities.
