Abstract

Adenoviralmediated overexpression of β2a, 4 subunits was used to influence the electrophysiological behavior of confluent monolayers of cultured neonatal rat ventricular myocytes. Optical action potentials were recorded for control and a-subunit-enhanced monolayers. In general, overexpression of auxiliary β2a, a subunits significantly modulated excitability in hear monolayers.
