note = "Funding Information: Women and racially diverse groups remain underrepresented in cardiology. 1 , 2 The past decade has witnessed an increased focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in medicine, particularly in cardiology. 3 Substantial work has been done to highlight the underrepresentation of women in cardiology, particularly on cardiovascular journal editorial boards and among research grant recipients, cardiology division chiefs, and fellowship program directors. Similarly, there is a dearth of Black cardiologists in leadership positions. 1 Award distribution by medical societies provides another dimension of assessing disparities. Awards are highly coveted, as they play an instrumental role in an investigator{\textquoteright}s career trajectory and increase their visibility within their field. 4 , 5 Previous reports have documented the underrepresentation of women among awardees of other specialties. 5 , 6 This study aimed to delineate the gender and racial/ethnic disparities in the distribution of cardiovascular awards.
