Abstract
The use of immunotherapy for the treatment of cancer is in its infancy. Definitive examples currently exist in both experimental animals and in humans that immunotherapy can beneficially affect the natural course of established growing malignant disease. Whether these pioneering examples will be extended so that immunotherapy can have a broad applicability in the treatment of cancer in man is not yet known and is a subject of much current work.
