We demonstrate that, at low shear rates, the scattering peak in the structure factor of sheared polymer solutions results from the combined effects of advection and flow-induced concentration fluctuation enhancement. Using time-resolved small angle light scattering, the distance of the peak from the origin of the reciprocal space is shown to scale as 1/2, where is the shear rate of the flow.
