Abstract

The prognostic value of gender was evaluated in patients with non-metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma undergoing curative surgery using the inverse probability of treatment weighting method. We demonstrated that female gender was significantly associated with a lower Fuhrman grade and better recurrence-free survival, suggesting that tumors in female patients may potentially have a less aggressive biology compared with those in male patients.
