Abstract
This article includes a resume of the present classification of 'febrile convulsions' based on the results of long-term documented investigations, as well as a discussion of some of the current controversies regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of so-called febrile convulsions. Throughout, the term 'simple febrile convulsions' will be designated as SFC, and FC will be used to denote seizures associated with an elevation of temperature.
