Abstract

19F magnetic resonance images were obtained of the ventricular walls of isolated rabbit hearts perfused with a perfluorochemical (PFC) emulsion. Since the PFC is known to stay within the vascular space in normal myocardial tissue, the 19F signal should reflect myocardial vascular volume. 19F MRI of PFC emulsions represents a new investigational tool for the study of coronary vascular volume.© 1992 Academic Press,Inc.
