Abstract

Auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) were determined in 16 patients with nearmiss sudden infant death syndrome. The AEPs were normal in all patients except one with prolonged I to V interpeak latency (bilaterally) and another with an asymmetry of interear I to V interpeak latency difference. These results indicate that AEPs do not permit detection of infants at high risk for crib death.
