Abstract

A Fourier series model for estimation of recurring biological signals such as evoked potentials is presented. The model expresses the waveform as a linear time-varying combination of orthogonal sinusoids. The least mean square adaptive linear combiner is used to estimate the (possibly time-varying) model parameters. The basic theory of the estimator and some simulations to verify its performance are presented. Finally, it is shown that the estimator is able to follow variations in evoked potential morphology.
