Abstract
Linkage analysis has identified chromosome 13q32 as a putative susceptibility locus for schizophrenia, although this region has not been replicated in all studies. The authors focused on this region, and investigated evidence for linkage in a sample of sib-pair pedigrees affected with schizophrenia. Nonparametric analysis revealed significant evidence for linkage at this region. This finding is consistent with previous reports of linkage, and enhances the plausibility of chromosome 13q32 as a true schizophrenia susceptibility locus.
