Abstract
Experience with the Gravlee Jet Washer is described. While employed in 131 cases, the instrument could not be inserted into the canal in 15. In 85 of the remaining cases histologic material was available for comparison with cytologic material. The Gravlee Jet Washer proved to be reliable in detecting malignancy. It further detected a case of peritoneal carcinomatosis in which the endometrium was not involved. It was less accurate in diagnosing hyperplasia or other benign abnormalities. Sources of error are discussed.
