Abstract
The three severity levels of the new EET personality spectrum-Ebullient normal style, Exuberant abnormal type, and Turbulent clinical disorder-are fully differentiated and described. Historical, modern, and contemporary ideas are reviewed. The spectrum's eight treatment-oriented Trait Dimensions, notably: impetuous emotional expression, high-spirited interpersonal conduct, scattered cognitive style and mercurial mood/temperament are detailed. Emerging Childhood variants are noted, as are several subtypes of the Adult styles, types and disorders, such as the Vivacious, Euphoric, Zealous, Reckless, and Exhausted. Hypothesized biogenic factors and likely experiential histories are discussed.
