Abstract
Reviews the major aetiological agents of infant and childhood diarrhoea. Discusses the varieties of infectious agents and describes the epidemiology and transmission in three important ones: Escherichia coli, rotarirus, and shigella. Outlines approaches and data for measurement of diarrhoeal morbidity and mortality, and concludes with a brief assessment of possible interventions.-A.L.Creese (CDS)
