Abstract
In this study, experiments were performed using a passively mode-locked erbium-fiber laser. The laser is a ring fiber laser with additional 400-m-long dispersion-shifted fiber in the cavity. The change in the total dispersion of the cavity was achieved by reducing the amount of high dispersion. Adjusting the waveplates revealed the symmetrically broaden spectrum and the broaden toward the longer wavelength in the laser.
