Abstract
A logical and systematic selection of a microcomputer system for a medical office is considered. The familiarity with medical-management programs on the market and the computer systems are required in the selection process. Seven selection steps are listed: needs assessment, system specification, software survey and selection, vendor selection, office task assignment and software support. Some warnings are expressed, however, by following the guidelines the chance of surprises will be minimized.
