Computational modeling of the cochlear outer hair cell cytoskeleton

A twostep computational approach was developed to estimate cytoskeleton properties. Using this approach and experimental data on the stretch of the cytoskeleton, estimates of the elastic properties of the filaments, crosslinks, and the bonding material between domains were obtained. An unusual pattern of the cytoskeleton deformation in the circumferential direction was found.
