Abstract
Uncontrolled observations have suggested that ibuprofen may be host beneficial in the control of joint and chest pain. In addition, the larger experience with this drug in other arthritides has implied that changes in hepatic and renal function are rarely encountered. We undertook, therefore, a randomized trial to establish and compare the relative efficacies and toxicities of ibuprofen and aspirin in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
