Abstract
A thorough and comprehensive vascular examination is critical to making a diagnosis of vascular disease and preparing for potential interventions. This chapter reviews the important elements of the clinical vascular examination, including history and physical examination, risk factors to account for, and bedside procedures that can be used to confirm a diagnosis. The presentation and classification of various vascular diseases, including chronic and acute arterial insufficiency, cerebrovascular disease, and abdominal aortic and mesenteric disease, are also discussed.
