Cerebral palsy in Minnesota. Study of patient care and patient needs

The Minnesota state-wide cerebral palsy study consisted of promotion of voluntary reporting of known cases, the establishment of an unduplicated register, and the use of a questionnaire to extract from the families information about patient status, care and needs. The study has produced considerable information concerning unmet needs and has provided significant clues so that the care of patients with cerebral palsy may be improved-case finding, medical care, therapy services, education, vocational assistance, and recreation. It should enable the major agencies in Minnesota, concerned with the care of the cerebral palsied, to plan together and pool their funds and efforts, so that the rehabilitation of cerebral palsied patients will be strengthened.
