Abstract
This chapter reviews the biology of tumor-immune system interactions and discusses how scientific insights from immunology have translated into novel strategies for harnessing the immune response to treat cancer, highlighting recent developments in T-cell checkpoint-blocking antibodies, adoptive therapies with engineered T cells, and cancer vaccines.
