note = "Funding Information: The government of China has recognized the importance of skin research to national health; The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is now awarding major research grants for skin research (US $10 million for 100 projects). Over the past 10 years, supported by both the Chinese government and international organizations, many professors and department heads have obtained advanced graduate medical education and sophisticated research training. Research experiences in outstanding international laboratories are almost prerequisites for department heads leading Chinese research university hospitals. Promising younger investigators are strongly encouraged to obtain international research training so they are familiar with the most advanced methods and can communicate effectively in English. The Chinese and other participating governments support international collaborations; the Sino-German Science Center, founded in 1988, is an excellent example of such an arrangement. ",
