Abstract

A new field known as Systems Biology is emerging from roots in the molecular biology and genomic biology revolutions. It is not merely a contemporary manifestation of traditional engineering, and the measuring and manipulation in the modern Systems Biology is at molecular level. Bioengineering is considered as an ideal discipline to address questions posed in the realm Systems Biology, and well suited to contribute experimental measurement and manipulation techniques. It is expected to have a major impact on basic understanding of living systems in terms of underlying, and complex molecular mechanisms.
