Abstract
In the study of the oscillations of urinary potassium excretion, ultradian rhythms might similarly represent evidence of coupling in the generation or stabilization of circadian periodicities. Their prominence in the absence of strong Zeitgebers may indicate a dissociative state of circadian timekeeping elements. At the moment this is speculation, but further study of these ultradian oscillations might enhance our understanding of the cellular mechanisms of circadian rhythmogenicity and would be of some considerable interest.
