Abstract
A few reports in the medical literature implicate anticonvulsant medication as a cause of abnormal vitamin D metabolism. Our experience with 15,000 patients over the past 36 years fails to confirm such a cause and effect association. The cases of rickets that have accompanied anticonvulsant medication may have represented merely a coincidental occurrence.
