Abstract

Anorexia tends to be overlooked in males, although recent estimates are that 5% to 10% of all cases occur in them. Based on studies reported in the literature and their own work with ten male patients in the course of treating 140 anorexics of both sexes over a seven-year period, the authors describe diagnostic criteria and the clinical picture in men, examine two cases in detail, and evaluate treatment recommendations.
