Abstract
An alternative method for proximal placement of the heparin-coated tridodecylmethylammonium chloride (TDMAC) shunt is described. A side arm is sewn on the grafts and the proximal shunt is inserted. The distal cannulation is done in the usual fashion. This provides an additional site of proximal cannulation and increases its versatility.
