Abstract

Primary aldosteronism is the most common cause of secondary hypertension. Adrenal vein sampling plays a critical role in the management of primary aldosteronism, serving as the final determinant between surgery and medical management. In this chapter, we discuss the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism, patient selection for adrenal vein sampling, actual sampling technique, result interpretation, and means for improving the success rate of the procedure.
