Abstract
1. 1. A method of recording the electrical activity of the brain in the conscious unrestrained cat is described. 2. 2. Details of electrodes used for recording cortical and sub-cortical activity are given, and the method of insertion is described. 3. 3. Simultaneous observations on electrical activity and changes in behaviour have been used for the purpose. 4. 4. Chronic preparations have been kept, and satisfactory records obtained for periods up to 15 months.
