Abstract

Severe congenital glottic webs are often associated with subglottic stenosis. We treated two young children with combined anterior glottic web-subglottic stenosis with partial laryngofissure and anterior costal cartilage graft placement. We used a novel stent composed of silicone rubber, created from the external limb of a Hood (Pembroke, WA) tracheal T-tube. This stent served as both a subglottic stent and a glottic keel. These two children achieved decannulation with improved vocal quality.
