Abstract

This paper presents a new way for constructing adaptive wavelets decompositions via lifting scheme. We propose a novel adaptive nonlinear update operator U, and prove that the wavelets, which are decomposed by this kind of structure, can realize conveniently the perfect reconstruction without any overhead cost. In this paper, we put forward a general framework of the new algorithm, and then show the specific example in 1-D case. The test demonstrates that the new one is better than the traditional methods, and has great flexibility and fine potential for expansion than other adaptive schemes.
